Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken up on the Monroe Mountain in Sevier County, Utah. It's one of my absolute favorite places to be. My family has camped and hunted there for as long as I can remember.

Time

I believe this was taken in the afternoon. My family and I took a drive down in the morning after a long night shift at the hospital. It was my birthday and I wanted to spend the day there!

Lighting

I honestly believe it was a cloudy day.

Equipment

I shot with my Sony Alpha, handheld.

Inspiration

I wasn't planning on doing a shoot that day, but when we turned the bend and saw all the aspen trees, I had to stop and take some photos.

Editing

Yes, I use Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom to process my photos. I can't recall exactly what I did, but obviously changed from color to black and white.

In my camera bag

I always have my Sony Alpha, my standard 70-350 mm lens along with my macro and telephoto lenses as well. I take extra batteries, memory cards and my external flash. I have a microfiber cleaning cloth, chapstick, money, cords as well stashed away!

Feedback

Always be prepared. I learned a long time ago that it's better to pack along your camera everywhere you go, because you never know when the perfect moment is going to come along!
