Location
This photo was taken at one of my favourite places to shoot Ocean Art. Bancoora each is the perfect compliment of accessible and remote and it gives a wide variety of subjects to shoot.Time
I had decided to get out and shoot around low tide, on this day it was around lunch time. Sun was high, very light cloud cover, made for some lovely conditions to capture the beauty in the ocean that day.Lighting
Everything was naturally lit.Equipment
For this shoot i was using a Canon 50D with a Tamron 10-20mm and my Ikelite water housing with a dome port.Inspiration
I personally love everything to do with the ocean, whether I am shooting surfers or waves or anything submerged, on this particular day I had made the decision to avoid shooting surfers and just get in close to the action.Editing
My post processing work is usually quite basic, primarily working with the colours and contrasts found within the image. In my camera bag
The real question is what gear do I not have in my bag. But when I set up for a shoot like this I typically have my two water housings and the cameras that go with them.Feedback
Positioning and timing is what this type of shot is all about. Even with a long range lens you have to find the right space to get in and capture the action. Cropping can only do so much but that is something I try very hard to avoid when possible.
