Location
This photo was taken in Big Sur on the California coast. This is Bixby Bridge. Most who come her photograph the other side of the bridge.Time
This was taken about 30 minutes before sunset.Lighting
There was some very heavy fog rolling in and I had just pulled up to the site. I quickly grabbed my camera and my tripod and ran to the other side of the bridge. I had never been here before but knew I didn't want to be on the other side. If I had been on the other side I never would've have gotten the colors you see here. This scene lasted for just a few minutes. In a matter of minutes. this scene was completely covered in fogEquipment

I had always seen Bixby Bridge on instagram, on a brochure at my local bank, and I think it's even on the video game GTA V. I am from Ohio and booked a flight out to Las Vegas for $80 round trip so I couldn't turn down the opportunity. I got in to Las Vegas and headed straight for Big Sur!Editing
I edited in Lightroom. There was a telephone wire in the bottom of the photo that was edited out. I also brought out a few more colors in Lightroom. In my camera bag

Get there early so you have time to set up and are not rushed. I was rushed here but still got the shot. I guess I got lucky. A lot of photography is getting lucky, being in the right spot at the right time. Another thing is getting a vantage point different from the obvious or different from what everyone else gets. It is important to take more than you think you need. This way you can have a lot to choose from when you get back home. Thats really it. I don't have much. I am saving for the 70-200 lens right now. I've been doing photography for about 8 months.
