Location
This photo was taken near Sacramento, CaliforniaTime
Around 3pm I was walking around the various stables at a horse show in northern California.Lighting
Always looking for the dramatic effects created by the natural light in the environment. This show horse peaked out from his stall in just the perfect lighting.Equipment
I don't remember the settings, but in general I like a sharp focus so I typically go for the greatest depth of field I can get, hand held with typically a 200 iso. I shoot primarily Nikon with a Nikon telephoto lens, but one of my favorite and most accurate statements I go by is: "It's a poor workman who blames his tools."Inspiration
My inspiration for taking this photo, and all photos is capturing the beauty in life. It has to "move" me at some emotional level. I know it when I see it.Editing
At this time I rarely use any post processing. I work at getting the settings right. In my camera bag
I don't carry a bag.Feedback
A photographer takes pictures, so take pictures. Lots of them. Go where subjects that move you can be found. Spend time and be patient. Keep your eyes open, aware and predict moments to come.
