This photo was taken on a plane flying over The Swiss Alps. I don't consider myself a professional photographer and I learn as I go. I carry my camera everywhere looking for that special moment.Time
This was sometime in the afternoon as I was flying over the Swiss Alps on my way to Geneve. The view was so amazin that I had to take my camera out and snap this shot.Lighting
The sun shining through the clouds was all I needed. Snow is white and the mountains didn't add much color, so I thought a black and white picture would be the best on this occasion to enhance the light and shadows.Equipment
This was shot with a SONY SLT-A57 with a 55-200 lens, with an f/9 aperture and ISO 100 at a 1/1250 shutter speed. No other equipment was needed.Inspiration
I am constantly looking for that special moment to capture. Knowing it may happen when you least expect it, I carry my camera with me everywhere. I was flying to Geneve, Switzerland and while I was minding my own business, I looked out the window and I saw it. The sunlight going through the clouds and shining over the snowed mountains was just perfect. I thought it is just another picture of snowed mountains, but something inside was telling me, it's not just another mountain picture. This one was different. The angle, the lighting, the altitude. Just everything contributed to a beautiful snapshot.Editing
I didn't have to do much processing other than adjusting the lighting and white balance. In my camera bag
I carry a Sony SLT-A57 with a Sony 18-55mm lens and a Sony 55-200mm lens. I will sometimes carry a second-hand Sigma 75-300mm lens, but it is quite heavy so I only take it with me when I specifically want to use it.Feedback
I didn't plan this picture, so I would recommend just be prepared for the moment that will come. I think anybody could take a picture like this. As I said, it is just a picture of clouds over snowed mountains.
