I traveled to Africa for two months in 2019. At the end of the trip I went on a 10 day photo Safari in Kenya. This was take while we visited the Massai Mara National Reserve in Kenya. We had been tracking a pride of lions over a few days.Time
This was early morning. We were being taught how to use the early morning light to catch halos around the animals. As you can tell I did not succeed with this picture.Lighting
It was that golden early morning light that I attempted to catch on this male.Equipment
Canon t7. Tamaron 18-400 lensInspiration
This lion tells it all.Editing
I hate to disappoint but I did very little correcting on this photo. I usually dehaze my photos a little. I believe that if I can’t correct in less than a few minutes then I move on to the next photo. Also I have enough memory cards and a battery charger. In my camera bag
Canon EOS Rebel t6 body, Canon EOS Rebel t7, Tamaron 18-400 lens, a macro lens, and a canon point and shoot.Feedback
Go on a photo Safari with professionals. By the end of ten days my skill level was very different than when I started the Safari. I believe that every photo is about light. Look at the light or lack there of. You can take A photo of the most mundane object but if the light is right it becomes magical.2
