Location
This picture was taken during the bull racing event at Tanah Datar, West Sumatra Indonesia in Oct 2017.Time
The bull races start in the morning until late afternoon. The picture was taken at about 10.40am in the morning.Lighting
The weather was cloudy when this shot was captured. However, the lighting was adequate to enable me to get the shot.Equipment
The shot was captured handheld on Nikon D750 with 70-200mm f2.8 under natural lighting.Inspiration
The bravery and the spirit of the farmers(jockey) inspired me to take the pictures. There are no safety protection during the race and it is up to the jockey's experience in handling the bull during the race.Editing
No major editing, only slight adjustment on white balance, highlight and shadow. In my camera bag
I normally carry DSLR bodies, 24-70mm f2.8mm, 70-200 f2.8mm, 16-35mm f4, 50mm f1.8 and Nikon speed light SB910Feedback
To shoot Pacu Jawi or better known bull race in Tanah Datar, make sure you arrive early at the location to book your shooting spot as many photographers around the world will be there. Don't forget to bring extra clothing and also rain jacket during your shoot as the location is wet and muddy.
