I made the family stop alongside the road in the small town of Shingleton, MI to take a photograph of the full moon rising above the tree line. It was the largest moon I had ever seen. As I set up my tripod and attached my camera, an elderly gentleman came out to see what I was doing. We had a lovely conversation about the town and his life. He was one of the fist people to live in Shingleton and ran the General Store for many years until he and his wire retired and moved into the house next door. Much like it was 80 years ago, Shingeton is nothing but the remnants of an old train depot station and a convenience store.
