This photo was taken a the top of Citadel Hill in Halifax, Nova scotia overlooking the Halifax Harbour. Citadel Hill is the most recognized landmark in Halifax which is a symbol of Halifax's history. I took this picture from inside of a car while cruising around the city one afternoon.Time
This photo was taken one afternoon while driving by the Citadel. There is just so much history here.Lighting
I wanted this photo to be a still representation of Halifax and I think that is what I managed to capture. It was actually very bright out this day and the sky was a nice blue although I think this picture required a black and white moment as the light and shadows really worked here during that time.Equipment
Surprisingly enough this picture was taken with just an iphone at the time, I believe it was an iphone 5. Good photography isn't about the equipment you use, but the subject in which you are capturing.Inspiration
Nothing really inspired me to take this, I was just driving by and thought it would make a good photo. Sometimes the best pictures are the unexpected ones.Editing
I just played around with the lighting and contrast settings, a simple black and white filter really worked for this photo. In my camera bag
All i carry now is my iphone 12, the camera is actually really good and it's perfect, it fits right in my pocket and doesn't require anything special. At the time of this photo all I had was an iphone 5.Feedback
I think that sometimes it's less about planning and more about actually just taking pictures. A lot of the time most of the pictures you end up with aren't great but every now and then there are one or two excellent pictures and they really make up for the crappy ones.
