Behind The Lens

Location

A group of twelve photographers, including me, retired for a week-end in a small, historical town called "Conchillas" in Colonia, Uruguay. Our unique purpuse: have fun and take photographs. We share techniques, ideas and equipment, very enrichenent.

Time

It was a grey, rainny day and we had no place to take photos indoors. Fortunately, in the afternoon, the weather changed. We were in autumn and the days were shorter and shorter. It was just before the Golden hour.

Lighting

I love natural light and it was perfect at that moment

Equipment

I used a Nikon 7200 with a Micro-Nikkor 55mm Ai-S lens manual focus. This lens was made in the late 70s, all metal, built like a tank! It is my favourite lens to use for portraits. No other equipment was needed.

Inspiration

As I´ve told you before we were twelve photographers, divided into two groups.I was feeling tired and decided to go and see what the other group was doing. When I arrived and saw the light on that beautiful red hair I shot immediately. Only one shot. No matter the results, I was tired.

Editing

No, not in this case.

In my camera bag

I pack a lot of things in my bag, but believe me, I never use most of them. First of all, batteries and charger. I carry a Nikon flash, tripod, remote controller, sand bag, diffusers, filters and a pair of Lensbaby lens because I like effects, etc, but it´s always the same, I only use the Nikon 7200 with the Nikkon 55mm.
