I raised money and supplies to teach my own art course when I was 23 shortly after I graduated with my bachelors and headed to Arusha, Tanzania. There I was greeted by my students at the tiny Sotwa Wilson School. I passed out digital cameras and the students were allowed to take these wherever they pleased and understood that if they brought the camera back, they I would help them print their images with a small printer I had brought over with me. No camera phones since they were born to practice with, hardly any outside influence from the media etc.... the results they produced were truly fantastic. I also got a few images, like the this, that are some of my most important work I've ever produced. I could go on for days, but these children changed my life and how I see through and use my camera.
