Location
This photo was taken in my living room, near a wide sliding door opeing onto the veranda.Time
Must have been around later afternoon.Lighting
I pointed my hand directly towards the light source, which was coming from the wide glass sliding doors. The rest of the lighting was ambient room light.Equipment
Canon 7D II was used. With my SURI tri-pod. No Flash.Inspiration
As a newlywed, I thought a photo of my wedding ring would make for an interesting piece. I wanted to capture an abstract form of my hand and still move the eye to the sharp curve of the ring.Editing
Used Lightroom for post-processing. Mostly changed contrast and highlights. In my camera bag
The two lenses that stay in my bag, is my Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM and my Canon EF 16-35mm, f/2.8 L II. Other kit includes: Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS II, Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM ], Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM. 2 X YN600EX-RT, YN-E3-RT and my Suri Tri-pod.Feedback
As a rule, I try to look at objects from different and obscure angles. It does take some time, but can be very rewarding in the end. Sometimes, I find myself I've gone too far - then I take a small step back, and it all falls into place.
