Location
The photo was taken in the middle of norway near the Jotunheimen mountain range during my last summer vacation. The rivers name is Sjoa.Time
I took the picture after breakfast in the late morning. Because this is a difficult time for landscape photography I wasn't expecting any good light and we just walked around this part of the river.Lighting
The lighting wasn't very helpful because it was near the middle of the day. The evening before we had a beautiful sunset after midnight and this wasn't anywhere near the magic light I was searching for. But the cloud cover helped to diffuse the light and created a nice background.Equipment
I use a Nikon D7000 with a Sigma 18-35 f1.8. For this picture I added a ND filter to stretch the exposure time.Inspiration
We were just driving to reach another part of Joutunheimen after camping near lake Gjende. While driving me and my wife saw this beautiful waterfall and quickly parked the car. There wasn't any planning. I just took my tripod and my camera and walked around the part of the river searching for compositions.Editing
As always with my RAW files I only changed the contrast and the saturation. In my camera bag
My main tool is a Nikon D7000. My favorite lens is the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 because its sharpness and useful zoom range. My other lense are a Nikon 70-200 f4 and a Tokina 11-20 f2.8. On regular days or to safe weight I take the small Ricoh GR with me.Feedback
You should always be prepared for unexpected conditions or locations. Even without preparation or location scouting you can take beautiful landscape photos.
