This shot brings to mind the phrase " Less is more ". It's beauty lies in it's simplicity. Wonderful!!

Location
This photo was taken on a very cold winter morning in January 2017 in Drents-Friese Wold a NP in the Netherlands. It had been foggy and cold the day before allowing for hoarfrost to accumulate, which gave the whole place a magical feel.Time
This was taken about half an hour before sunrise, not a person or living thing in sight. In fact, I wandered the area for a good 2 and a half hours without seeing a living soul.Lighting
Due to the snow and hoarfrost this photo was taken with a 2 stop over exposure, this allows for the whites to actually be white. As the camera has a tendency to turn all that brightness into grey if you let it do it's own thing.Equipment
This was shot from a tripod with a Canon 80D and Canon 10-22mm lens. I also used a 0.9 soft GND filter to allow the camera to get some of what little color was in the sky that morning.Inspiration
I love snow and I love hoarfrost. We don't get much of it in my country and when we do it makes my heart sing. The day before I had spent tat work looking out the window with frustration, as the hoarfrost world was calling to me to photograph it but I knew I would be in the office until after the sun had set. So when it turned out the hoarfrost would survive the night I made sure to make use of that day off to get up early and go to a place where I knew I could capture the right atmosphere.Editing
There was little post processing done here, the right exposure and the GND filter did most of the work for me. But I did reduce haze, added even more white and brightness and added some glow. The skies had turned a bit too blue which wasn't true to the scene, so I toned down the saturation a little on that as well.In my camera bag
I tend to just carry everything on trips like these, I get up early and travel all day when I get time for a photography vacation like this. Up before dawn and won't be back until after the sun has set, visiting several locations during the day. Because of this I carry around my trusted bag full of stuff such my camera, a 60D then, an 80D now. A set of lenses, the Canon 10-22mm, my Canon 17-40mm, a macro 100mm lens and my 70-300mm zoomlens. After all, you never know what you may come across in nature. I also carry a filter wallet with several a polarizer, ND and GND filters, extra batteries and of course I am never without my tripod. For those moments that you may get some water spray, fog or dust of some kind, I also always make sure to carry a proper lens cloth with me. This whole thing may make me look like a pro to most amateurs, but I am just an enthusiast :)Feedback
Unfortunately this is all about weather conditions. Of course picking the right location and time of day do matter, but most of this is knowing or at least predicting the condition for your desired location. So pay attention to weather conditions and don't sleep in no matter how warm the bed and how cold outside! ;)
