Behind The Lens
Location
These two images were both taken in Zihuatanejo, Mexico.Time
The full moon image was taken at about 11 pm and the statue was taken on a different day at about 7 pm,Lighting
All natural lighting.Equipment
I used my Nikon D90 with a Nikkor 18 - 140 lens. The moon was shot on a tripod and the statue was a handheld shot.Inspiration
People always seem to like romantic images and this combination seemed just right.Editing
The moon image was softened a bit before the blend of the two images. The statue was darkened quite a bit to give the impression of nighttime. The two images were manipulated and blended using Corel Paint Shop Pro X9.In my camera bag
I normally carry two lenses; a 35mm 1.8 and my 18-140 zoom. I also carry a set of ND filters and a polarizer. A tripod, one light stand, remote flash and a reflector/diffuser I carry at times depending on my situation.Feedback
Keep your imagination open to possibilities. Know your post-processing software as well as you know your camera. Always shoot RAW.
