It was a very overcast morning and it really worked out well. Because there was no sun in the eyes, all the photos came out perfect and didn't need any corrections!Equipment
I used my Nikon 5200 with an 18-270 lens! No flash was necessary and I was able to shoot hand held.Inspiration
I had seen a photo in a magazine for a photo booth. It was a girl holding a frame, I thought it was a cute idea. I decided to take a frame to this shoot to try this idea out. When I pulled out the frame I stuck it in the sand and had the subjects sitting behind it. We noticed Just to the right of where we were standing there was a slight drop off down to the water and I decided that if we put the frame into the sand and have the subject stand out by the water it would look much better! It turned out to be a great idea.Editing
Because of the over cast day there was nothing to do. The lighting was perfect! The only thing I did finish crop it to bring the subject in to a tighter frame. In my camera bag
I always carry a tripod, reflectors, my 18-270mm, 50mm, and my 85mm lenses. Extra batteries and some type of noise maker to grab the attention of little ones when I need them to look at the camera.Feedback
I think the frames are a fun idea and definitely having a ledge that leads down to a lower level is a much more attractive look to the finishing photo. Another fun idea is to have the frame hanging from a tree or or a bridge and have the subject stand down on the banks or further back to help frame them. You can center them or use the rule of thirds with in the frame to change the look.
