I loved the way the highlighted red sails of the junk drew my eye to it. Its profile enhanced by the backdrop of buildings. The lights behind gave a feeling of excitement while in contrast the junk appeared solitary. A feeling of mystery.Equipment
Canon 400D EOS, and flashInspiration
Inspiration came from the contrast in profiles of the red sails of the junk against the buildings behind it. The junks solitary position posed a question in my head about the boat's destination and it's purpose but more about the life of the owner.Editing
No post processing except cropping of the image. In my camera bag
EFS 18 - 55mm and Sigma 70 - 300mm 1:4-5.6 lenses. The former being the lens used for most photos.Feedback
I'm a very amateur photographer, but I've found the more photos I take the more observant of my surroundings I've become. I've also realised that not all photos are going to be great but the more I take there's usually one that stands out. One starts to see photo opportunities that would previously gone unnoticed. Persistance and critical critiquing is necessary to improve.
