I recognized the place instantly because I lived at Lake Tahoe for 6+ years. I have seen Emerald Bay from this angle during all seasons of the year...even in the winter when I had to hike through 4 feet of snow to reach it. There is one thing that makes this picture stand out: The sepia toned sky and the effect the lighting has on the mood of the picture. In all my years at Tahoe I never saw the sky this color but...here it is. Yes, there is indeed something very special about Lake Tahoe.

When the clouds are this good I always stop a 5 or 6 spots in Emerald Bay.Editing
I do as little as possible in Photoshop or Lightroom. In my camera bag
My camera a Canon 24-70mm 2.8 Lens, Canon 70-200mm 2.8 Lens, Canon 100mm Mac-row 2.8 Lens, and Canon 85mm 1.8 Lens. I also have my assorted "LEE FILTERS" that I love.Feedback
The only advice that I have is go out and SHOOT, SHOOT, & SHOOT!!!!!! one thing that I like to do is to study other photographers work that I like. You should look at a photograph and dissect it the lighting, the composition, and the subject. Go over every part of a good photo. The more you study all good photographs and photographers you are teaching your self to know what is a good photograph. Read, study photography, lighting, composition, and subject.
