This is the coolest picture of a great horned owl I've ever seen!! Wow!! Have you ever heard of Floyd Scholz! He's a bird of prey woodcarving. Google him. You won't believe his owl carvings!! World class!!

Location
The photo was take in the north of St-Adèle in Québec. most of the time I use a app. for looking the bird I want to shot.Time
It was early afternoon, during a light snow fall. After a two hour walk in the forest.Lighting
This is all natural light, so I had to adjust my setting and push my iso to have a nice shot.Equipment
I use Canon MarkIV, 500mm + extender 1.4 and my tripod, no flash involved.Inspiration
I love capture bird during winter and during a snow fall or after the snow, give a nice finish for the picture.Editing
I use Lightroom for the post-processing, I adjust the lighting and sharping, just a bit of saturation. In my camera bag
Its all depend of what kind of bird I looking for, most of the time I cary my 500mm and a 300mm in a huge bag :)Feedback
To be prepare, patient and know well your gear to be ready, I shot all the time in manuel, so get ready to adjust the most important triangle = ISO, aperture and shutter speed
