Early morning, fogLighting
It had rained and there was very thick fog which made for a soft backdrop. I also shot with a very shallow DOF.Equipment
Canon 1D Mark II, 85mm, 1/8000, f/1.2, ISO 125Inspiration
I drive by this farm all the time and I really wanted to capture the cows in the background but the fog was so thick I concentrated on the fence. I was practicing leading lines. It was also taken at a time where I was experimenting with using a shallow DOF.Editing
I brightened the photo, increased the greens, and sharpened. In my camera bag
I currently shoot with a Canon 6d. I still use the 85MM a LOT. I also have a 50 mm, macro lens, 100mm, and a Lensbaby. I dream of owning a 70-200 someday.Feedback
I love to grab my camera, pick up and go when I have different weather situations. Especially fog! Don't be afraid to use a shallow DOF, I just wouldn't recommend it when working with people unless you want part of them out of focus. The "golden hour" is a favorite time of day for many photographers, but I adore early morning.
