I took this photo in my flower garden, where I had some roses growing and these really beautiful irises.I love photographing vibrant colors found in nature.Time
It was a beautiful, sunny summer day in June , taken around noontime. The height of the sun and the clearness of the sky made this shot really come alive.Lighting
I wanted to capture the mood of a bright summer day, and shooting this at the right time, when the sun was at its highest point in the sky really captured the feel of that summer day.Equipment
I shot this with an IOS camera.Inspiration
My inspiration for this shot would be the color purple. I have always been drawn to the color, and how rare it is to find in nature. When I saw this Iris growing in my garden I knew I had to capture the beauty of it and get the perfect shot.Editing
None.In my camera bag
I usually carry a Minolta Camera.Feedback
I had to get very close to capture every detail in this flower, and also wait for the timing to be right. If you want to capture the vivid color of a flower, make sure the natural lighting is right, wait for the right time of day. If you want a softer feel, start shoot just as the sun starts to go down.
