Location
This photo was taken whilst studying a HND in photography. We started of the term with the fire brigade in Southampton wanting a fresh new look using photographs for the different stations.Time
This photo was taking in the afternoon using an office and studio lighting.Lighting
The lighting I used was two soft boxes close to the subject so you could see all the definition in the photo.Equipment
This was shot using a Sony A77 and two studio lights.Inspiration
The inspiration for this image was from a famous photographer called Michael Scholler he photographed celebrities but instead of making then look soft and smooth he shot them close so you could see every detail in there face.Editing
With this image I brought the clarity up so it brought out more definition in the hand and helmet of the firefighter. I also used a black vignette and dropped the black on the image to make it look like a dark and gritty imageIn my camera bag
My camera bag is very basisI have my Sony A77 camera and my good old faithful lens. Carl zeiss 16mm-80mm lens i wouldn't be without itFeedback
Don't be afraid to play around with lighting and to get close to your subjects. Lighting is key in all images.
