Location
This image was taken in Annapolis, MD, standing on the edge of the Naval Academy.Time
This image was taken just as the sun was going down and dropped below the steeple of the church. The colors were incredible as the rays bounced off the water. It was a must to capture.Lighting
This was all natural light. No filters. Just the right time at the right place.Equipment
It’s been a while, but this might have been on. Nikon D610. No tripod, hand held. I used a 24-120 F/4 Nikon lens.Inspiration
The colors. Once I saw the magnificent colors, I just had to find the right position to set up the composition. I think anyone would have been inspired by these colors.Editing
I did some contrast and saturation boosting in Lightroom. There wasn’t much to do straight out of camera. In my camera bag
It depends. If I’m doing a street walk, my 24-120mm. Sometimes it’s a 50mm lens. Back then the D610 was my first full frame camera.Feedback
My advice is to have your camera handy when you walk. You never know what might pop up. Have a soft plan, and be ready to let go of it if something interesting pops up. Other than that, keep shooting so you are always getting better.
