Thank you all for the gongs. It is surprising that I don't like it near as much as some of my other landscapes.

Location
I woke up this morning to see the sun trying to penetrate through the morning mist. Thinking that the view was worthy of being recorded I found the camera and not waiting to put clothes on picked a spot on the back veranda to make the recording. Home is Country NSW Australia where we can see the constantly changing scenery due to weather conditions.Time
I am usually taking pictures here later in the day with great sunsets or long warm shadows. This was about 7.30 am for a change.Lighting
It is all about the lighting although I did make another picture without the foreground foliage but prefer this one. I enjoy the subtle colors. I did think it would be a monochrome in such hard contrasting light and have not even looked at how I would like it desaturated.Equipment
Without making sure of my facts I would say this was taken with a Canon 60D camera hand held using a Sigma 18-250 lens that I use for 90% of my photos. Being of senior status I am very conscious of the weight I am carting. Having said that this didn't stop be from walking through the Mossman Gorge for about 5km with a spare 100-400mm weight, which didn't get used.Inspiration
I can't resist taking pictures of things that I find attractive or unusual. In this case it was seeing the light streaming in rays caused me to reach for the Canon.Editing
I usually try to be honest in my representations and impressions. Not fond of being able to see HDR . This would have gone through a minimal processing of conversion from RAW. Black and white levels set in Photoshop CS2 a quick look in curve and unsharp mask. I find that If I have done a reasonable job in the first place That is all I need to do to make me happy. In my camera bag
I have a large camera bag which flies with me but has a lot of things which don't get used. I have a 50mm prime used once since owning it for two years. A flash unit used on three occasions in about four years. Spare battery memory card and usb stick. Cleaning materials blower brush and body and lens cloths. Sometimes a 100-400mm Canon lens but weight makes me leave it at home most of the time. A hat, used a lot, and a fold up umbrella.Charging equipment for camera and phone batteries. The things that get used are the Canon 60D with the 18-250 Sigma lens.Feedback
Striving to capture what you see is what it has been about for a long time. The more you strive the more you see and the more you will capture. I always find it interesting to see the different pictures people take from the same location. Look again, you may see something different.
