Have to say in full agreement with kenwindsor. Just a fabulously well composed and executed shot, with perfect mix of colours and features. The field for the final is outstanding but this one has caught my eye the most. Amazing shot!

I think that Ken described it perfectly. Sunsets can be tiring after a while, but THIS ONE has all the qualities of color and is different in every way. Kudos to Ken's description.

I shot 7 frames with a 4 second shutter speed for starters. F8 as aperture to get everything in focus from front to back.Equipment

When i planned to go out was already in the morning. Not because i thought it would be a good colour in the sky, but just because i thought there is a nice place to be. It's serene with some sand bars and shallow sea water. When i arrived i saw the great cloud formation in the sky and started shooting. There was not much wind and the clouds were hardly moving. So set up for some HDR shot with a longer shutter time. When i looked on the back of my camera i saw the light was great. Beautiful reds and oranges and some dark grey in the foreground.Editing
First ingest in Lightroom and then Photomatix 3.1. Back to Lightroom and process further with Photoshop and Nik Software. In my camera bag

Try to look for the light and tones. Learn to read the sky. Also a bit of scouting before to find some spots what have some interest to add. Know the time of sunset and sunrise and watch the weather forecast. Be careful if you are going to a sandbar. The tides can catch you on an unpleasant way...... ;)
