Beautiful colors and I love the light twinkling off the lighthouse! Great job.

Location
I took this night picture at the cove in Cape May Beach, NJ, USA. It was a long exposure as I did not want to use the flash as it was getting dark and I wanted mood. I am a self-taught photographer, and this one was my first nice bulb. I love the mood in it.Time
It was already well past sunset, getting darker.Lighting
There were cars parked behind me, with their lights on, so I am sure that affected the picture.Equipment
Yes, I used a Pentax K-5 on a tripod, but no flash.Inspiration
I like lighthouses, the safety they evoke. The evening was very pleasant and I wanted to convey the idea of stillness, and the welcome sight of the lighthouse. A safe harbor.Editing
No, I don't have any post-processing software. In my camera bag
It depends, on the time of day i photograph and what type of photography I intend to do: definitely a tripod at night or darkening filters for day time for long exposures. Long lenses if I plan on shooting wildlife. I am really no pro, so I actually have a tendency to stuff my bag with everything I have, which makes it heavy. I hope to be able to streamline as I become more focused on one type of photography and do better planning on my intent before venturing out.Feedback
Try to master one technique at a time and take notes of what equipment and settings you use for each picture. It will pay off in the long run as far as learning how to use the equipment and what to expect from it.
