My cousin Dominic Joseph was born premature at 32 weeks gestation with a major congenital heart defect called hypoplastic right heart syndrome (also known as 'half a heart'). Here we see my aunt cradling his foot while he was in the NICU, unsure of what the future holds for her son. Dominic has grown into a vibrant little boy and has faced every transgression with a smile and fighting spirit.
