'Bonjour Paris - Champs-Elysees 01' is part of my series which showcases the 'other' side of Paris - The Poverty, the Homeless, the Desperates. This image shows the self-built 'home' made from shopping carts of a homeless person along Champs-Elysees on top of a metro ventilation outlet (for warm air at night). Paris in the year 2019 is a city of extremes. The 'Grandeur', the monuments, the abundant cash all around and at the same time the masses of people living on the streets. The extreme social-economic differentiation of our days has become a situation of normalcy, whereby the street people have become a part of the city landscape, not even noticed anymore by most non-homeless people.
