Winter In The City Photo Contest Winners
Thank you to all the photographers that shared their best city winter photos in the Winter In The City Photo Contest with chances to win a Canon 20D and more!
A special thanks to our friend and professional photographer Ron Clifford for his collaboration as a guest judge in this photo contest. "I am an artist, coach, and creative mentor with a unique gift to help unlock the creative ninja that lives inside every person. You could say I really do is explore my world through the connections my camera helps me create – and to help others overcome roadblocks and see blind spots along their own creative journey. I am also an one of the founding Masters (mentors) in the amazing online photography learning platform known as "The Arcanum" as well as being involved in training new mentors joining us on the platform, I have the best job in the world!"
"A big part of my decision making for this contest was first how much it felt like "Winter in the city, and if it spoke to me about the theme of the contest. There were so may very good photographs it came down to the connection and story in the image the photographer was able to convey. I Love the way I can "feel" the winter cold here. I connect to it visually and emotionally. The use of black and white has distilled the image to its essential elements and it exudes the theme "Winter in the City". I shoot a lot in cold and wintery climates and know how the snow falls and feels and I feel as though I am right there with the people and the dog in enduring yet another winter. When I look at images I look for not only technical merit, I also look for connection and character, the thing that helps me remember an image long after I've seen it and this image is one that does just that." - Ron Clifford
"The element of story and feeling both play into this being selected. I am drawn to the expression of the woman and the wet wintery feeling like life has presented a change in seasons. Good composition and colours and tone that match the mood and subject helps me connect this to the "Winter in the City" theme." - Ron Clifford
