What is interesting is that baleen whales have two blowholes, like blue whales, gray whales, humpbacks, etc. but toothed whales (sperm whale, beluga, dolphins) have only one. At some point in evolutionary history, one of the nostrils on the toothed whales evolved to become part of their echolocation system. Either way, the massive jets of spray that can be spotted on the horizon as a couple of playful whales break the surface is a pretty good way to spend a day on the ocean!
