This Dubai night scene was captured from the 42nd floor observation deck of the Shangri-La Hotel. In recent years, I've seen many photographs of this scene, and I really wanted to attempt to capture it myself. Consequently, I spent a good deal of time in Google Maps trying to work out the best vantage point to do that. I concluded that the Shangri-La Hotel was it! So, I spent two nights there - this is one of five shots that I'm happy with - my first real attempt at night photography.
