This was a beautiful day out on Southend sea front, when I saw this shot I had to take it. It evoked all the memories of childhood, I used to ride the train to the end of the pier. When I was a kid the pier was magnificently longer before a fire in 1959 & 1978 and again in 2005 (I was three and a half when my parents first took me to the end of the pier) and I rode it many time up until the fire of 78, the track was in those days a mile and a bit long. The 1970's were halcyon days in this country!
