It is extremely rare to get a decent Milky Way image in Northeastern Illinois. You have to drive close to 100 miles to escape the Chicago Metro light pollution. Also, summer evenings are rarely low humidity. Still, this night it was a new moon, low humidity, and no wind allowing the opportunity to capture some great astro shot.
