very interesting, when I was looking at a small version of this, I could not see the way the path curves around to the left. So, here is my response to that smaller version: the smaller pic didn't seem like a path around the lake. It seemed more like a runway from which people, creatures, things could take off. Like in Nice, where the planes take off and land over the sea. Part of what suggested this to me was the sky, which figures very prominently in the photo, with the wonderful clouds, perhaps even contrails, etc. So to me, it's not extremely significant as a path around the lake. Perhaps it is more so as a place where the lake meets the sea, or all that's holding back the sea is this thin strip of pavement, bolstered by those rocks. And what is it, a pedestrian path? Jogging between the lake and the sea? Maybe I'm misreading the photo, these are just my responses, and something like this does raise questions, a few or a lot. When captioning a photo I don't think you want to restate the obvious, but use the imagination more? Anyway, you wanted comments/suggestions, so those are mine. Nice photo. Of course, it occurs to me that if you've already entered this in a contest, it may be too late for suggestions? Anyway, good luck, nice photo.
