Aw ..I love hummers!!! I always love to watch how the females will "tolerate" each other and will even feed next to each other...but when the male is there....so territorial!! Lol!! Wonderful capture!! : )

Well, usually a photographer can catch them when they are hovering. But you still need a very fast shutter speed . . . good lighting and a powerful lens are also very helpful.

Love this shot with the other Hummer in the DOF !!! well done! Your 5.6 Aperture is what provided our peak at her!

I always love a "two-fer," Gail . . . glad you like this one, too. Again, I'm pretty sure I had the D5000 set on "shutter priority" for this shot. It helped that I was able to get quite close to the hummies, too.
