It's been raining for two weeks now here in my place (Claver, Surigao del Norte, Philippines), while me and my friends were really excited for the clear sky to test my newly bought lens the Tokina 11-16mm F2.8 DX II. October 7, 2016 First Quarter phase of the moon and I'm up for a challenge to shoot the Milky way with the presence of the moon. The original plan was to goto Cemetery for a Milky way Hallowen Special shoot, we had a 15mins ride to get to the location (a Barangay cemetery) but we ddn't feel good in that Cemetery so we changed location and found ourselves in the middle of rice field with alot of Mosquitos but no light pullotion and then we started shooting the Milky way with the Moon by its side.
There's a swamp nearby in this area and it's full of water lily but before I found-out the Milky way was already below the Horizon.
We really enjoy that moment... and I really like my new lens, now we have to wait for the next new moon, and explore the other places here in our town. And continue chasing the Milky Way.
"Trying to shoot the Milky Way with the moon."
Barangay Wangke, Claver, Surigao del Norte, Philippines
Single Frame shoot using Canon 80D.
SS: 25secs
Aperture: F2.8
ISO: 1000
@11mm
