This photo was taken when I was so frustrated of not having a good subject to point my camera at. The scenes that I captured prior to this photo are so dull and lifeless. I almost gave up searching for a good story to put in single frame. Then, I saw this twins who were innocently playing around sacks of soil and dirt. Their faces are the mirrors of the realities of life specifically the societal gap between rich and poor. Children's smiles are the picture of their complete innocence of what is happening in the society - violence, child-trafficking, sexual abuse, child labor etc. While their sadness reminds us that despite their lack of knowledge of the unpleasant realities of life, they are the ones who are directly impacted because these societal imbalances will be their future burdens - if not addressed properly by the people who are supposed to be looking over these challenges in life. The more depressing thing is that at an young age, these children are already bearing the blows of life.
I took this photo to serve as a reminder that we - adults, should be preparing the things that our children needs to be able to face life's challenges.
