Note that area in front of flower and behind flower are out of focus and only the flower is sharp. This technique is called shallow depth-of-field. This technique keeps the interest centered of the subject.

Aw spiderwort such a pretty flower but very poisonous when injested so watch your pets when near it. And weed whacking only helps this invasive plant spread. Had to save a family cat from it many times because the leaves looked like grass.
