A stunning display of the northern lights over the Orkney islands. In the foreground is the broth of gurness which is an iron age pictish settlement.

Taken at around 23:15 on a beautiful summers night in the Orkney islands.

We went out looking for the Aurora ti photograph, too much cloud cover for that so decided to play about with some steel wool.

After a morning of wind and snow, the skies over Orkney cleared to finish the day off with a stunning sunset.

Under the Bridge

The Kelpies are surely Scotland's greatest sculptures, created by Scottish artist Andy Scott, they were opened to the public in April 2014.
