I got this wildlife photograph of a Brown Pelican in flight during the late afternoon of May 15, 2019 while on the Manatee Viewing deck at the Haul Over Canal. This is just one wildlife photograph of many wildlife photos I took that day. The Haul Over Canal is a local historical land mark that goes back to the times before Ponce de León discovered Florida. It was originally used as a portage by the original Native Americans to get their canoes from what is currently called Mosquito Lagoon into what is currently called the Indian River. Based on my limited experience in the area, it may also be a common flyway for the local Brown Pelican population as well as other local birds and animals.
