This beautiful undulating land and trees surrounded by mist hides the horrors and scars of the land of April 1917. The grass which covers the tunnels, trenches, shell craters and unexploded ammunition can only be walked over by sheep. The 11,285 trees and shrubs which commemorate the missing soldiers of the Canadian Forces from WW1 were once shattered stumps. This is a Small piece of Canada in France.
