This is actually a much more complicated photo than it appears to be. First of all I thought it was a tremendous sunset, the way the sun just dipped underneath that cloud bank but still colored up the sky with a brilliant orange. Just very nice. But the rest of the photo that actually took some inginuity, and before you say okay, just take the shot at f16, f22, or even f32, I will tell you I've always loved to dabble in techniques, and having a remote control that will do Focus Stacking is one of those areas I like to dabble in. So I let the remote do it's thing on the foreground taking dozens of photos multiplied that by however many photos it took to do tonemapping, then aimed the camera upwards to do the distant foreground with thte same amount of photos, then I aimed upward and focused to infinity for a few shots of the sunset. Then later on in Photoshop came the hard work, hours of merging all them together to what you see here. It's not the most exciting shot, but I put a lot of work into it and like to share these experiences on my blog and now here on ViewBug.
