As a kid I had the the pleasure of living off grid before it was fashionable. We had an irrigation creek that ran through a beautiful grove of mature plum trees, a purple variety and the golden. It was the golden plums that I remember so fondly, sun warmed in dappled shade. I would pluck one off the tree and enjoy a sweet burst of flavor. When I found this tree on my friend's property this Summer I had to eat one of these gorgeous plums. Nostalgia at it's best!
