This aquatic carnivorous plant species called Utricularia blanchetii is endemic to Brazil and grows quite happily alongside its Australian cousins of the same genera. The flower is only 7mm (0.276 inches) across. The plant has one or two 4mm (0.157 inches) leaves, indicating where the underground roots with carnivorous traps occur, capturing microscopic microorganisms living in wet boglands.
