It's not really the desert but the closest thing I can get to one. The clay makes it dry as heck out here similar to a desert. It's the fossil pit I spend a large amount of time at collecting Devonian age fossils. It's pretty wet and the clay can be dangerous at the bottom so I guess you can't even call it desert like. It's my mini desert in the upper middle of Iowa though and I treasure it.
