Their winter range is brutal. It is cold and unforgiving yet these horses seem to thrive. Their coats thicken. They get fat. They come home in the spring as if they have been livin' large. These animals are certainly resilient and inspiring. I love how this shot seems to disappear into a snow white abyss both above and below the shot. It is certainly representative of the barren wasteland that is their winter range.
