I went to a Black Lives Matter protest in Santa Ana, California and approached a group of police officers at a gas station. I stood in front the them with my arm extended holding out a flower to see if they would be the bigger person and take the offering as a symbol of love and peace. After 10 minutes of watching them joke and laugh about the other protesters and completely ignore me, I placed the flower down and walked away.
