This is the third highest waterfall in Brazil (273 meters, almost 900 feet). The pool is huge, and very beautiful, great to swim. It can be reached by a 2.8 km trail (a little more than 2 miles) that can be considered a little demanding: there is a large number of steps going down to the river bed and then about a third of the way is over the rocks that border the river bed. When I went the steps had been just built, and it was a very good hike, but not for sedentary people or small children. The Park staff was very nice, and they are very careful to keep track of weather conditions in case rain may increase the river flow. The way to the Park include some miles of dirt road, but it was well kept when we visited, you could reach it in normal cars with no problem.
