Spent the night camped next to Lake Tyrell in the town of Sea Lake in north west Victoria, AU.
The beginning of winter after some rain and clear skies gives best viewing

We left Melbourne mid-morning, stopping by Trentham Falls before making it to Lake Tyrell, we managed to find a port to park the car just as the sun was going down; I managed to snap a few sunset pictures before waiting to the stars to emerge and walk into the milkyway.
