I stumbled across this gem of a photo from my first days gaining an interest in Photography. I was 13 and fortunate enough to be in a program to visit the UK for several weeks as a "Student Ambassador." This was taken with a $35 point and shoot camera and Kodak 400 speed film. The thing I love about showcasing these photos is the same that I enjoy about "iPhonography" - they may not be the best quality compared to D/SLR's and other such pro level equipment, but they get down to the basics of creativity. Great for beginners to see that they don't need to spend thousands on equipment to get started taking great photos, and they can only get better.
